Foolish Fire
By: Eve Estelle
Night has fallen on the forest grounds,
Shadows veil the path ahead;
Sticks and leaves are the only sounds,
As the traveler walks where others fled.
A silent fire guides his way,
Had caught his eye and held it still -
Burning bright and burning blue,
Above the lake, and down the hill.
A silent fire guides his way,
Had caught his eye and held it still -
Burning bright and burning blue,
Above the lake, and down the hill.
I love nights like that, even if they're not actually real.

Aren't they just some of the best nights? Agreed, even if they're not real, gotta love them. I also find the will-o'-the-wisp legend fascinating. That's what this piece is mainly about.
