Thank you for visiting here at Edge of Night! I can't tell you how much I appreciate each and every visit, and every one of your comments, shares, etc. Hearing from you makes each post that much more worth writing.
The below guidelines will allow you to use my work legally and without fear of copyright infringement. This page also includes a bit of information regarding post suggestions and other copyright-related topics. I'm very flexible with these, but I did want to make sure they were here if needed.
For anything created by me...
I'm really not too worried about copyright when it comes to my own work. If someone likes what I've written enough to reuse it, that's great. However, attribution is always appreciated.
How to attribute me: You can attribute me in any way, shape, or form that includes my name and a link to this website (Edge of Night). If you've made changes to the work, a link to the original would also be great.
A basic citation might look like this: "... by Eve Estelle on Edge of Night."
"Original work by Eve Estelle on Edge of Night"
Also: I'd love to see where my work is being used! Feel free to drop a comment or send me an email, if you'd like.
For images/other media attached to my posts...
Sometimes I use my own photos in my posts, but most of the time they're someone else's. When this is the case, you can find credit given to the original photographer underneath the image. Follow the links provided in the citation and use the image (or video, etc.) like you normally would, following the original author's guidelines.
If the image is in the public domain, or if it's my own, there will be no citation beneath it.
Suggesting a Post
Have an idea for a poem, story, or something else that you would like to see published on EoN? That's fantastic! I would be very interested in hearing it. But please be aware that..
- You will be credited for the suggestion, but the copyright of the resulting work belongs to me.
- Credit for suggesting a post is optional; however, if you choose to be credited, then you must also tell me the name you wish to use and, if you'd like, provide a website or profile link.
Audio Files (narration, songs)
If you volunteer to record yourself and narrate one or more of my works, or if you decide to make a song out of it, the words remain mine and therefore my property; but your voice is your voice - you own the copyright to the audio file!
However, by sending me your audio, you are giving me permission to display, promote, redistribute the audio on my blog and in any place associated with my blog (e.g. social media).
The above will be the case unless you make clear to me that you made the audio for fun, and that you're sending me the file only because you want to show it to me, not to have it made public (I usually ask, but do keep this in mind!).
Thank you again for stopping by, and feel free to contact me if you need anything clarified!
