Faraway
By: Eve Estelle
I see the walls to your kingdom,
Across the sea, so far away;
The cerulean waters give me no solace,
As I'm reminded only of that fateful day;
Disruptions plague the tranquil surface,
As I recall the reason I couldn't stay;
A ripple for each fallen tear,
I wish you weren't so far away..
I stood outside those wretched gates,
Defiance coursing through every vein;
I watched them bolt the locks behind me,
Wasn't long till I felt the pain -
Separated from you, but I still couldn't doubt,
For two words they called to me,
And those were, "Get out."
I love your poetry! This one has fantastic imagery!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you do! Thank you as always! :D
DeleteWow...that's melancholy. Amazing, Eve! :-) Where do you get the inspiration for your poetry? What time of day do you usually write? (Pardon the noisy questions...^_^)
ReplyDeleteThe darker stuff is so much fun. ;) Not at all! I love your questions!
DeleteI tend to write mostly at night or in the very early a.m., but it varies. As for inspiration, that could come from anywhere and anything. It could be a simple word that hits me just right, a song that inspires a certain atmosphere - heck, a good number of my writings were even just random ideas that came to me in the middle of the night and stuck. It's really a range of different things. :)
Gorgeous <3
