Fire Starter
By: Eve Estelle
One placid night I lay alone
In restful dark, as silence seeped
Through skin to bone -- nay, blood beneath,
Lulled asleep by angel voices;
Grace of air, a trailing kiss --
And late that hour, gentle night
Gave way to heart, a pair --
We dance in dreams,
The kindling burns,
The fire blazes high --
Twisting 'round the nimble arms
Awaltz among the sky;
All it took, a look from you,
A glimmer in your eye --
Thy patience bathes thy soul
In light, thy ticker's made of gold;
Bright beating hearts astep in time
The day your faith was mine;
The dark horse takes the crown,
And wakes before the line.
In restful dark, as silence seeped
Through skin to bone -- nay, blood beneath,
Lulled asleep by angel voices;
Grace of air, a trailing kiss --
And late that hour, gentle night
Gave way to heart, a pair --
We dance in dreams,
The kindling burns,
The fire blazes high --
Twisting 'round the nimble arms
Awaltz among the sky;
All it took, a look from you,
A glimmer in your eye --
Thy patience bathes thy soul
In light, thy ticker's made of gold;
Bright beating hearts astep in time
The day your faith was mine;
The dark horse takes the crown,
And wakes before the line.
I love this, as always. :)

ReplyDeleteThank you, Heena! :D
DeleteFiery indeed. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat I like about your poetry is that you need to read it twice in order to interpret it.
Hah! ;D
DeleteI do like pieces like that! Gives it a bit more depth (and room for different interpretations).
