About

Hello there! A big welcome to you! Whether you're a newcomer here or long-time reader, I'm thrilled that you stopped by. Please pardon this fairly basic "About" page - I've never been the best at them!

A Little About Myself
- Eve Estelle isn't my actual name - it's a pseudonym, an alias, a pen name.

I've been blogging steadily for about four years now, but had a previous 6 months or so of experience before Edge of Night.

- I write for fun. I write to improve. I'm an experimental writer, trying out all sorts of different styles, forms, and subjects.

- Though most of the time I do try to adhere to them, I sometimes deviate from the rules of writing. I don't believe in boundaries when it comes to creativity (but certainly the result isn't always pretty!).

In other news,

I fail terribly at planning anything in advance.

- I'm a very reserved person, especially online. Still, I love people!

- I'm from the Midwestern U.S.

- When it comes to movies, books, etc., my tastes vary widely - anything from fantasy, to sci-fi, to mystery, to comedy; classics, modern, silly, stupid - you name it. Except romance. (But even then, occasionally...)

- Besides writing, I love to stargaze, hike, take pictures, horseback ride, and I'm a lifelong gamer.

About Edge of Night
Focus

Edge of Night is a blog that focuses on writing. It's a place for me to publish my poems, short stories, and other works online. While the main topic is writing, I do post periodically in other areas.

Why I Started It

I'd been wanting to share my writings with the outside world for a while - I wanted to hear what people thought; what they liked, what they disliked. I wanted to find out what I needed to change, to improve in each piece of work. Before this blog, my files would simply gather dust in Microsoft Word, until I lost the files altogether. But with it, I'm able to interact with wonderful people from around the world who can help me see the good and the bad in my writing - and in return, I can do the same for them, if they'd so like.
Fun Facts About Me & My Blog
 Created: October 2014

For those in my personal life, the fact that I blog is a secret (shh!).

I'm a Whovian, Sherlockian, fan of Supernatural, and Person of Interest.

I love the paranormal, supernatural, and any mysteries of the kind.

I prefer my glass half full, thank you very much!

Although I'd love to travel, it's unlikely to take me far (so far: Canada).

✧ I "patiently" waited ten years for 2016's Warcraft film.

I chose EoN's name without thinking about it - I was tired of being indecisive.

I find dark pieces especially fun to write, but they aren't usually personal.

You can probably tell that I'm a fan of Edgar Allan Poe.

Feedback & Social Media/Content Updates
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

It makes my day when readers like you leave a comment telling me what they thought of a piece -even if they didn't particularly like it. I take criticism in stride, and appreciate every single comment, email, or other message, and it doesn't matter if it's positive or negative.

With that in mind, I would love to hear feedback from you, and I'm always open to suggestions and hearing ways that I can improve. Or, maybe you'd just like to say hello - that's perfectly fine, too!

You can shoot me an email by using the form on my Contact page, or by sending your message to eve.edgeofnight@gmail.com.

Also, if you find this blog to your liking, there are several different options that you can use to stay up-to-date on posts and to show your love! These are:

- Subscribing via Google Friend Connect (the little box to the right that says "Blog Followers") or by email

- Liking Edge of Night on Facebook for any major updates or announcements

- Following my Twitter or Google+ profiles for updates plus various other tidbits of information

- Following my blog via Bloglovin'

Lastly, if you find any glitches, have issues with links or pictures, anything like that, please contact me in one of the above ways.

Thank you, and I hope to see you around the blog!

  1. Eve Estelle... I've never enjoyed reading anybody's about page as much as I have enjoyed reading yours. I'm a new blogger and I used to feel until now that about pages are meant to be boring but after seeing how creative you have been here, I'm inspired to make my about page better. Thanks for the inspiration. :)

    1. Your comment made my day, Aradhana. :) Thank you. About pages can be anything you'd like them to be. It's very easy to think you should go straight to the generic style, but it's a page about you and your website - it should express who you are, and show off some of your unique style! Can be very hard to think of what to put in there, but hey.. You can always change it up.

Welcome to the world of blogging, by the way. :) I'm certainly no expert, but feel free to drop me a message if you ever need help or have any questions!

    1. Welcome to my little writing haven, Vani! :) I'm thrilled you like it! Thank you. Yes! Aren't there just so many fantastic writers out there? It's great, although surprisingly difficult to find them sometimes. Always fun to stumble upon them!

Like I said on Twitter (but didn't have enough space to elaborate on lol), I stopped by your own blog and loved what I saw of it. I've been off and on busy all day today, but I plan on returning ASAP and leaving a comment or two! :) Thanks again!

And I really love the look of your blog. :)) It's very neat- one of the reasons I decide to read a blog. :D

    3. Hm.. I went and fetched your new code, but it still keeps correcting the link to "https://www.blogger.com/www.plainjane.in". Tried simply deleting the blogger part, but it pops right back in. What program/website are you using to create your buttons?

    4. Ah! Think I got it! Not sure what was going on there, but it eventually let me put in the right address. Should be fixed now. :)
