Party Like It's 2015
By: Eve Estelle
Welcome to the future,
Where there are no flying cars -
Just crude hoverboards 'n wishful thinking -
But where we're on our way to Mars.
The Internet's changed the world,
But pizza still ain't instant,
We have tech that you can wear,
And no matter how distant,
We can talk, and talk, and talk.
Ohhh, we're halfway there!
The future's always crazy,
Never know what you'll see;
We don't have it all,
But come on, be happy!
Party like it's 2015!
Author's note: Happy "Back to the Future" Day. :) A spur-of-the-moment poem on the day that Doc and Marty visited a futuristic 2015!
Cool! I had a nice chuckle over this one. ;) It's so different and unique from what you usually write, Eve. Love it! :)
ReplyDeleteI have to ask, have you heard the song "Party like we just turned 21"? I thought of it when I saw the title of this post. ;D
I've always been fond of the Back to the Future movies, so this was a fun one. ;) I'm glad you enjoyed it.
DeleteI don't remember the song offhand, but it does sound familiar. The post's title is actually a play off of a similiarly-named song, though! Either Party Like It's 1984 or 1999. One of those. I forget which is the original, and Google turned up way too many results to figure it out lol.
I'm not familiar with the movies, but a girl mentioned them in class last week. :)
DeleteIt's a fairly new country song, I think. ;)
LOL.
I think the song may be by Hunter Hayes... :)
DeleteOoh, you so should check them out sometime! They're very enjoyable.. And just looked up that song - I do remember hearing parts of it recently! Not the whole thing, though, until now. Good one. :)
DeleteWhat a fun poem! I love the movies so I think this is so cute & fun. Good job!! :)
ReplyDeleteAren't the movies great? :D Thank you Erin! I'm glad you found it enjoyable!
