I've been nominated for the Liebster Award!
As with every other award and tag I've received, I'm honored and extremely grateful to have been nominated for this. The Liebster is one that's been floating around the blogosphere for a fair amount of time, and it's a fun, recognizable tag that has done a great job promoting newer blogs.
A huge thank you goes out to dear Chioma from Blue Books and Butterflies for this sweet nomination. The rules for this thing have only changed about 1,576,112 times since its creation, but here's the version I've received!
Rules
- Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you
- Answer the 11 questions asked
- Nominate at least 3 other bloggers with less than 200 followers
- Ask them 11 new questions
Chioma's 11 Questions
#1 Who is your most hated fictional character?
No one is coming to mind.. There are always those characters that we just can't stand and want to throw a rock at, but.. Okay, well, I did finally think of one: Delores Umbridge from Harry Potter.

#2 What do you like to do other than blog?
Aside from blogging and writing, I've always been a gamer, love reading a good book (though I don't get to them often enough!), enjoy browsing Netflix and surfing the internet, and I'm a bit of a hopeless stargazer (I live in the suburbs and can see approximately three whole stars).

#3 Why do you read?
Why would I not read?! It's such a great thing. I love being able to take trips to worlds and eras that are only accessible through the world of books. I love being able to relate to the characters within these worlds. You can learn amazing things whilst reading, and it helps to improve your own skills in writing as you see how other authors manage it.

#4 If you had to tattoo one book quote to your arm, what quote would you choose?
Oh, that's a tough one. Uh... This is going to have to be another one that's just right off the top of my head (don't think I'd actually want this tattooed on my arm..):
"The building was on fire, and it wasn't my fault" —Harry Dresden, The Dresden Files

#5 Who are your top 3 favorite bloggers?
All the blogs I follow have something unique about them. I'm admittedly very quick to say I love a blog, but it's because each author, even if they post similar content to hundreds of other bloggers, brings something new with their personality, design preferences, etc. With this in mind, it's difficult for me to narrow it down to just a few "favorites."

#6 Are there any books you would consider to be your guilty pleasures?
Not that I can think of. But mostly because I don't read enough new books to have many guilty pleasures.. lol.

#7 What is your favorite movie?
Currently, I'd have to say The Avengers movies.

#8 What is the best thing that has happened to you, since you started blogging?
There's no single "best" thing, but many things! I've improved my writing abilities greatly, have had the pleasure to interact with some really fantastic people, I've learned a lot about myself, and, while still very limited here, I now know more about how HTML and design coding works.

#9 What food could you eat every day and never get tired of?
Hm.. I used to say Ramen Noodles, but now the salt would just be too much to eat every day. Maybe spaghetti? Love that stuff.

#10 How did you come up with your blog name?
It was actually just the first thing that popped into my head, and I went with it. Normally I would sit there for an eternity trying to think up a name that fits, but I really didn't feel like doing that this time. And hey, I liked the sound of Edge of Night! (Admittedly though, it's a tough name to style a blog after).

#11 What book changed your life?
Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. That was the first book series that I really got into, and where I realized just how fun and detailed a fictional world could be! It was also the first book I read that got turned into a movie.

I think there's one or two in there with slightly over 200 followers, but I don't think the world is going to end because of that. As usual, there were so many blogs I wanted to nominate, but I 1.) tried to avoid nominating those of you who had already gotten this award, and 2.) tried to avoid nominating those of you who I've tagged in other posts recently.
Alright, here are my 11 questions for the ten of you listed up there (borrowed a couple from Chioma)!

DeleteYou're welcome, and thank you for answering! ^^
Thanks so much for the nomination Eve! I have done this award before, back in the day when my answers were nothing but pathetic, and I'm a sucker for tags so I probably will be doing this some time. I actually love your blog name and the impulsiveness of your decision to choose it.
ReplyDelete-M
The Life of Little Me
Oh, well thank you! ^^ I certainly could've done much worse when it comes to blog names, and overall I'm happy with it. And I get what you mean there lol. Feel free to do this tag whenever you like! No rush at all.
DeleteAwww thank you for nominating me :D I feel so honored! This means a lot to me. My post will be up soon. Thank you so much beautiful :D
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Heena! I'm glad it made you happy! Looking forward to your post. :)
DeleteAwesome answers! And thanks for the tag! If I get to it, I might do another vlog with it.
ReplyDeleteOoo! I'd love to see that! Great idea. You're welcome, Ashley!
DeleteThank you for nominating me! It's been awhile since I've done this. ^.^
ReplyDelete1. How did you come up with your blog name?
There's a huge story behind it, but in short, I was contemplating about life when I came across it.
2. As a reader, do you prefer poetry or short stories?
Short stories! As much as I love poetry, I prefer short stories much better.
3. Favorite book author?
So hard to choose... um, can I pass this?
4. Cold weather or hot weather?
Cold weather! Everything feels much more cozy!
5. If you were going to learn to play an instrument, which would it be?
Piano or guitar. I know that they are super common, but they would be nice skills to have!
6. What is one word you just can't help but laugh at whenever you hear it?
If people tell me "laugh" or really just not to laugh, I can't help but suddenly just do so!
7. Do you prefer to think ahead or just "go with the flow"?
I like to think ahead of a general plan of where I'm going, and from there, I go with the flow. It's much easier for me to work like that.
8. What song is stuck in your head right now?
Don't Rain on My Parade, by Barbra Streisand. I act like I'm from another decade :P
9. Do you try to maintain a posting schedule on your blog?
Yes! I try to aim to post on Mondays and Fridays!
10. If you were going to change your name, what would you change it to?
My real name is old fashioned, but I can't imagine myself with another name... Maybe something with a W in it, like Winona.
11. How do you overcome writer's block when it hits?
I go and stop the project until I get inspiration back up again, by going on Pinterest and just enjoying life.
xoxo Morning
You're welcome, Morning! I have to agree with short stories lol. Poetry is great, but you can't beat a well-done short story.
DeleteFavorite book author is a tough one, you can definitely pass lol. Yes to cold weather! And guitar/piano would be great instruments to learn - who cares if they're common. I'd personally love to learn the violin.
Thank you for answering! Loved reading this.
Great answers! The Avengers is a really good movie and I could eat pasta all day. I have heard of Inkheart and now you have made me really want to read it.
ReplyDeleteLovvve the Avengers, and I swear I could be part Italian with the amount of Italian food (especially pasta) I eat. Definitely give Inkheart a try sometime! Inkspell and Inkdeath are the following sequels. I haven't read it in a long time, but it was a fun one.
DeleteThanks again for the nomination, Chioma!
I loved reading your answers! It kinda helped me get to know you better. :) I actually just borrowed Inkheart from the library but failed to pick it up on time (AUGH! I was working and didn't make it to the library) so I will have to put it on hold again. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for nominating me! I got nominated three times this year for the Liebster award, so I think I'll answer the questions in a separate comment. :) Thank you so much for the nomination, it means a lot to me! :D
Oh no! lol. I think you will enjoy the book, though! It definitely has a fun story. And the movie isn't bad either (though, as usual, there are things in the movie that aren't in the first book). Oh wow, I'm sorry, didn't know you had gotten it before lol! But you're so welcome. Hope you enjoy answering! ^^
Delete1. How did you come up with your blog name?
ReplyDeleteIt took FOREVER. I had so many different ideas, then I really wanted to do "The Blog at Emily's Corner" (styled after the House on Pooh Corner) but I realized some people may not get that reference. Then it popped into my mind- The Imaginary World of Emily McConnell. So I went with that, because it fits! :D
2. As a reader, do you prefer poetry or short stories?
Short stories. I like reading them and I've recently discovered I enjoy writing them as well. :)
3. Favorite book author?
AUGH! So hard! I LOVE Michael Phillip's books. I guess I'll go with him.
4. Cold weather or hot weather?
Ehhh... cold. I think I can get more done in the cold. Unlike the heat, where I have to work in the mornings to avoid it, with the cold I just bundle up tighter. I've ridden my horse in five degree weather before and was fine, but I have never ridden above ninety-five degrees. :)
5. If you were going to learn to play an instrument, which would it be?
The violin, hands down. I LOVE the violin. Plus "Polyushka Polye" would sound GREAT on the violin! :D
6. What is one word you just can't help but laugh at whenever you hear it?
Casadias! Hehe, it sounds like someone is saying "Case of the ideas" when I hear it. :D
7. Do you prefer to think ahead or just "go with the flow"?
Depends on my mood. I'm a act-first-think-later person who will leap into things without thinking, then other times I will take two years to decide on something. Not kidding. :)
8. What song is stuck in your head right now?
Polyushka Polye. ;) Because I just wrote that thingy about it in the instrument question.
9. Do you try to maintain a posting schedule on your blog?
Ehhh... not really. I kinda just post when I have something to post about.
10. If you were going to change your name, what would you change it to?
Emily Anna Jones! :D *Indiana Jones themesong playing*
11. How do you overcome writer's block when it hits?
I rarely get writer's block. I used to, but I trained myself over the last two years to write every day and now I don't get it. If I am not inspired to write a story then I know it's not the story I'm supposed to write, because when I write I write to finish. If words aren't coming to me on a story, I go write a different one until I am ready for the other one. :) Make sense?
Loved the questions! Thanks for posting these and nominating me! :D
Awesome! Thank you for answering, Emily! ^^
DeleteI think you chose a great blog name. Fits perfectly with all of your stories. I remember riding during a super hot summer - it was terrible!! Cold all the way. I also want to learn the violin :D
Great answers! I also have to go and look up "Polyushka Polye" now. Sounds interesting. :)
