Message in a Bottle
By: Eve Estelle
Old and outdated,
Rarely seen anymore -
Messages in bottles,
Washing up on the shore.
Written by a stranger,
Cast out to sea;
No destination set -
Untethered and free.
Drifting along
The wild tides,
'Till land it encounters,
And in sand it resides.
Inside, a simple greeting,
Or a stranger's tale,
Who knows where it'll go
When the bottle sets sail?
Inside, a simple greeting,
Or a stranger's tale,
Who knows where it'll go
When the bottle sets sail?
Beautifiul poem.

Thank you, Kathryn! :)
DeleteI love this! It's so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy family's going to the beach soon. Maybe we should do this. Could be fun. :)
Oh, you totally should! That would be so cool, I think! ^^ Wonder how hard it is to make sure it doesn't float right back to your own shore?
DeleteThanks so much, Ashley!
Wonderfully written! Love it Eve!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteAre you open to suggestions for a short story?
Oh, most definitely! I'd love to hear what you have in mind. Thank you so very much, Faith!
DeleteOkay, sounds good. I'll send it to you in the blogger contact form.
DeleteWritten by a stranger..
ReplyDeleteRead by a stranger. ^_^
Exactly. I think it'd be neat to stumble upon some stranger's message in a bottle! Who knows what would be inside?
DeleteAwesome poem! You put words together in such a lovely way! I kept thinking as I read this how perfect it would be if someone found a bottle washed up on the beach with this poem inside. : )
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower of your blog, by the way, so hi!
Oh, now wouldn't that be neat? :) I'd love to find something like that.
DeleteA big hello and welcome aboard, ghost ryter! Thank you so much for your sweet comment. I appreciate the follow, and hope to see you around the blog!
love this...great flow ti it Eve and i once did write a message in a bottle and let it out...seems silly now :) but love your poem.
ReplyDeleteWow, Seema, I'm sorry lol. Totally thought I had replied to your comment here! But thank you. I don't think that's silly at all. :) I know I'd love to find one of these myself. I'm sure whoever found yours (and most likely somebody found it - even if it washed back onto the same shore!) thought it was a fun find.
