A Gift Given
By: Eve Estelle
A gift was given
To me by you;
A gift that is
Just one of few.
But this one gift
Will be the last -
So, truly, I say
Thank you.

Another beautiful poem. Well done! I nominated you for the Liebster Award. My post is here: http://bluebooksandbutterflies.blogspot.com/2015/07/liebster-award-nomination.html
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you so much, Chioma! I'm glad you enjoyed the poem, and I really appreciate the nomination. It might be a couple of days before I can get that posted, but I'll have it up as as soon as possible. Thank you again!
DeleteGood job, Eve! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks much, Faith! ^^
DeleteThis is a great poem! It's short and sweet, which gives the impression that gift is very precious. The gift, being one of few and the last, makes the entire poem seem much more emotional, and the thank-you at the end is very sincere. Beautifully written! :)

Yes! That's just how I hoped it would come across, thank you. :) I recently stumbled upon a little gift that my dad, who passed away a few months ago, had given me and it made me think of him. Most of my poems aren't personal - but once in a while I throw one like this in there lol.
DeleteThank you for commenting and stopping by, Erika! And for the follow. :)
Sweet poem! ^.^ I decided to keep "Mind Of Quayla" btw! ;)
ReplyDeleteI saw that! Woohoo ^^ I personally think that's a great way to go, but I respect your decision either way. Thanks, Quayla!
DeleteA short yet expressive poem :)
ReplyDeleteI usually try to avoid making such short pieces, but sometimes you just need a short one. :) I like the result of this one. Thanks for the comment, Sakshi!
DeleteAww Eve this poem is just too sweet. It doesn't matter how short this poem is. The important thing is how much it means. And we can see it in here :D Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteYou're so right, Heena! It feels like I'm shorting you guys when I post such small things - but, like I said in an above comment, sometimes a few lines is all you need to express your point or tell the story. :) Thank you as always for reading!
DeleteLove your poetry! Short, sweet, and incredibly meaningful. I like how there are so wasted or unnecessary lines in your poems. This one is a great example :) Kudos for making the most out of your words.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Haresh! Glad you found it to your liking. :) I was very impressed by your own writing - just beautiful and so very well done! Thanks so much for stopping by.
Deleteawww...sweet....love the picture...i wish i had that :)
ReplyDeleteThe picture turned out to be just perfect for this. Took a while to find, though. :)
