Where the River Bends
By: Eve Estelle

The river flows,
It sweeps us along;
Its movement constant,
Powerful and strong.
Gravity pulls,
A silent force;
It's hard to fight back,
Hard to change course.

Down the current we're sent,
As a path is carved in stone;
But down where the river bends,
Is a chance to claim the throne -
Our chance to fight the current,
Our chance to take control;
Time to turn ourselves around,
And to struggle towards our goal.

    1. So sweet as always, Heena! I really do appreciate that. This was a hard one to get started - nothing felt right! I'm very satisfied with how it turned out, though. :) Except maybe the ending. I was ready for bed by that time, but was itching to get it posted. Thank you so much!

    1. Thank you Kathie! That's really great. It's so tempting to give in sometimes, no matter what the problem is - but you've gotta fight through it. Keep going. :)
