Guys, I'm losing track already. WTF. That's how long it's been.
Much has changed over these wonderful five years. Heck, many of you that I first exchanged blog links with, during my early days, many are gone, now -- or on your way out. Which I get, 100%. It's a lot of time, energy, and effort to run a blog... No matter how casual you are about it. And, eventually, you may find yourself drifting away from your online world, to focus more on your personal life. Passions come and go.
(Who knows, maybe some of you will return to the blogosphere in the future. I'd certainly be happy to see ya!)
I'm feelin' it, too. It's pretty obvious from how inactive I am these days. But, despite posts that are few and far between, I still love writing here. Whenever I get a burst of inspiration, this is still where I head.
Sadly, I've not been around to pay visits to my fellow writers and blog buddies, but I'm still here...
I've taken a much more relaxed, whenever-I-get-to-it approach to this since my efforts had begun to be directed elsewhere. Unfortunately, that means that, at times, I don't have anything new out for months... But it has also kept me going. Kept me from getting burned out.
I will, hopefully, reenter into a more active phase again, sometime... Till then, thank you for sticking around. :)
Ready to hear what's been going on 'round these parts as of late?
The Headlines: News & Updates
- I'm currently (actively) working on two new poems, including another three-parter!
- These are coming together at a snail's pace, but that's a good thing as it relates to quality... No completion dates, but, as of right now, the two titles are "War of Tides" (the collective title of the 3-parter) and "A Rose in Amber Time." Excited to have these out ASAP!
- My Wattpad endeavor, though imperfect at times, is a beautiful second home.
- I've missed uploading content the last couple of weeks, mainly due to most of my energy being consumed at work (nearing 4th quarter in retail *nervous laughter*). But I've gotten several of my first writings up already, and it's been great to give them fresh new life. Brand new covers, with music added to some, and more fleshed-out author's notes.
- That said, it's also been really hard not to edit these crappy old poems and stories as I post 'em. But they're personal history, now. Relics!
- As I've said before, my goal (more or less) is to post 1-2 of my old pieces to Wattpad each week. I've not interacted with the community there, yet, as I'm really just focusing on one part (uploading), for now. But if you have, or make, an account there, let me know so I can check you out!
- I've been trying to get back into violin a bit, so I'm still considering posting music content here, too.
- That's a ways away, though.
- What happened to fun things like contests, reader collabs, etc., etc.?! Nothing! They'll be back.
- Like I said, I've been busy and focusing my efforts elsewhere as of late. But I've also been wanting to do something fun again for a long time. I even posted to Twitter asking you guys for suggestions -- which I then wrote down, so I still have them. I haven't been active enough to host any kind of event; not active enough here, and not active enough outside of my little corner, either. We all know participation is a two-way street.
That's all for now! I'll probably remember something I forgot later.
Blogiversary -- 5 Long, Lovely, Fleeting Years
Five years is no small chunk of time; but it also is. Funny how things work, huh? Half a decade!
But, as a fun form of recordkeeping, the sharing of blog stats is a common blogiversary tradition -- it makes for a great way to reflect on progress made, and can also serve as a trip down memory lane. I've never been too good at consolidating all of the most important stuff, but ah well. Even messy records provide insight.
I don't expect much has changed over the last year, considering what little I've done here. But let's see!
(Blogger's stat counters are a little wonky, so these are all approximate.)

Thank you for an incredible five years. It has really been something special.
See you when I next have something finished!
CONGRATS! We miss you, but it's alright! Your poems are amazing <333
ReplyDeleteThank you, Aditi! <3 I appreciate that. You've been a wonderful reader & fellow blogger to know, despite the relatively short amount of time that we've been following each other's work!
DeleteHi! I got a Wattpad <3 just wanted to let you know! I already followed you!
ReplyDeleteYaaay!! Thank you, I've returned the follow! :D
DeleteI do have a wattapd (pearlsofcatharsis)... Congratulations on 5 years! I think I have also been around for 6 years I think (barring my one-year hiatus)! You have built something really beautiful. :') Never stop writing and never stop sharing these.
ReplyDeleteI've followed you there! And thank you!! Six years is a helluva long time in this sphere. Especially considering the troubles you've had with Blogger/Google+, you should be proud to still be at it, no matter how engaged you actually are with it at the moment! That said, the same goes for you -- you've built something special, don't stop, ever. At least the writing portion of it. :) Platforms come and go. But your work is irreplaceable!
DeleteOh thanks... will follow you there whenever I decide to log in. XD
DeleteThank you so much for your kind words. :') Will never stop. I am working on coming back...willmake a proper announcement soon. :D
lol, I feel that right now! "Whenever I decide to log in." XD
DeleteBut I'm glad to hear it, really. I'm super excited for your announcement!! :) Feel free to shoot me a message when you post it, so I can make sure I see it.
Congratulations!! This post has really spoken to me, because it made me realise that I think my blog's been here for 5 years too, but like you I now post rarely and sporadically whenever I feel inspired. Having your own little corner of the internet is funny like that, isn't it? And mentioning visiting fellow writers and blog buddies, this is the first time I've gone through the list of blogs I followed back in 2015, and it's interesting seeing who's dropped off with their last post 2 years ago, and who's still here. You must've been one of the blogs I followed 5 years ago, and I'll be keeping you on the list, excited for things to come whenever you get inspired <3.

The Life of Little Me
It sure is! It can be a challenge to keep it going at times, too. But even if you don't do much with your little corner... it'll always be there for you, if and when you find yourself in need of it. I certainly remember you, M, I loved you and your blog way back when, and I'm super happy not only to see you around again, but that (no matter how inactive) you're still going at it when the feeling strikes! 5 years is a milestone to be proud of. I'm excited, too, for what lies ahead, for both of us!
DeleteThank you so much for the visit, it made me smile -- and for sticking around! I am thrilled to hear that, and I sincerely look forward to seeing you around. Best of luck to you, and cheers to all these years!
